|t's not often the girl next door gets wrapped with 'sex symbol' status. However, Brooke Burke has pulled it off and then some.
Brooke Burke first popped on our television screens during 1999 when 'Wild On' debuted on the E! channel. The exotic adventure quickly became one of cable's highest rated shows. She was our late night party princess. Kind of like Julie McCoy (from the Love Boat) on ecstasy.
Now, in addition to being a mother of two, she's hosting the summer's hottest reality show, Rock Star: Supernova.
(I must admit. I think I'm in love with Brooke. So, I was very nervous going into the interview.)
REX: You ready for this?
Brooke Burke: Yah. Are you?
REX: Ohhhhhh yahhh. Here we go! Chocolate or Vanilla?
Brooke Burke: Vanilla. [No hesitation.]
REX: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Breakfast Club?
Brooke Burke: Hmmm. Breakfast Club!
REX: Cherry or Apple Pie?
Brooke Burke: Apple Pie. [Again. No hesistation.]
REX: Okay. Enough of the easy ones.
Brooke Burke: Right on.
REX: You’ve just spent an entire day skiing in Aspen.
Brooke Burke: Okay.
REX: You need to relax. So you decide to get in a hot tub.
Brooke: Nice.
REX: You can invite one of the following to join you. Who would it be? Bono? George Bush? Madonna? Dave Navarro? Prince? or Marty Casey? Who would you pick and why?
Brooke Burke: Hmmmm. Well now. It definitely wouldn’t be George Bush. And.... I don’t think Bono. Although I am a huuuuuge U2 fan. Dave could be intriguing. As for Prince, he’s like my sexual idol. Hold on.
REX: Yah.
Brooke Burke: Can I invite two people into the hot tub?
REX: Sure. What two people would you get wet with?
Brooke: I’d take Dave and Madonna. That sounds... fun.
REX: Cool. I’ll sit in the corner and watch if that’s alright.
Brooke: Sure.
REX: If anyone knows the best places to vacation, it’s you. Where’s your favorite place to go?
Brooke: I go to Saint Barth in the French West Indies for two weeks each year. That place is amazing. Amazing people, beautiful beaches, great wine, wonderful harbors… It’s incredibly romantic.
REX: Sounds lovely. Hey! Are you a rocker?
Brooke: Yah. Growing up I listened to a lot of rock.
REX: And now... what’s your favorite band?
Brooke: I’m really all over the place these days. I listen to AC/DC, James Taylor, the Eagles and U2.
REX: What was the last live concert you went to?
Brooke: Prince!
REX: At the Staples Center?
Brooke: Yep, he is so amazing!!
REX: What’s your favorite color?
Brooke: Coral.
REX: As in Coral Blue?
Brooke: Nope. As in Coral orange. Wait. That’s not it. I like Turquoise. Yah, Turquoise. Put that down as my favorite
REX: Whatever you say.
Brooke: Cool.
REX: How were you approached about Rock Star: INXS? What was the audition process like?
Brooke: David Goffin approached me about the concept. Luckily, he was really pulling for me... It was your basic audition with a lot of competent people trying out for the spot.
REX: Who else was trying out for the gig?
Brooke: You know. All the people you might suspect... Daisy Fuentes, Rachel Perry and a few others.
REX: What has been your most memorable moment on Rock Star: INXS?
Brooke: Hmmm, no real moment sticks out for me. It's more of a general string of moments. And, that's Wednesday nights - during the eliminations.
REX: Why is that?
A lot of people don’t know this. But, I have no idea whose names are on the cards for the Bottom Three. It’s really tough. I chose to do it that way. It's not easy opening that card. We’ve all grown into a family these past few months and it’s really hard to read those names. It can be really emotional.
REX: What’s your favorite thing about being a mom?
Brooke: Everything… Hugs and kisses. My kids are my grounding. Again, everything.
REX: What do you mean by 'grounding'? As in you for them?
Brooke: Noooo. Them for me! They settle me. They bring me back from the entertainment side of my life.
REX: What are your plans after Rock Star?
Brooke: I want to stick in live television. And I’m hoping to continue on in a second season of Rock Star. Plus, I’ve got my 'Barely Brooke' swimsuit line with Venus USA and my new calendar is coming out.
REX: Do you want me to plug 'em?

Brooke: Go for it.
REX: Do you think Rock Star is more of a television show or talent search?
Brooke: That’s a good one. I think we’ve pulled off a happy medium of the two. I mean, we haven’t embarrassed or humiliated any of the contestants like you might see on some of the other reality shows. And, we’ve maintained the core element of the show which is 'let’s get INXS and Supernova a new singer'. I’d say mission accomplished!
